i have a stock rochester quadrajet layin here off my old doner car for the frame of my 51 pontiac i\'m just curious what the cfm rating on it would be it\'s off of a 86 cutlass with a 305, i imagine it\'s pretty puny, what numbers do i look up and where can i compare the numbers to find out what cfm it is?
thanks for any tips

most q-jets are small primarys and huge secondarys i am unsure of the excact numbers but i think the secondaries are like 780cfm at least thats what i was told for the one off my 77 350.

If memeory serves me correctly the small block carbs are 650 cfm and the 454\'s were the only one\'s with 800 cfm. Yes I did say that.
I have a small block Q-jet on mine and you ajust these carbs with the jets and metering rods. They really are a ood carb for both economy and performance. Just go to the drag dtrip and look at the S/S classes that run well into the 10\'s and even a few in the 9\'s. They by the rule book have to have a factory carb and guess what they are....

well i might swap it with my spreadbore carter that i have now, the cartercomp needs a rebuild really bad and this q-jet was just rebuilt right before we tore the car apart for the frame, it\'s supposed to have recalibrated metering rods and everything and it seemed to work really good on the cutlass so sounds god to me. thanks guys http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
