A friend of mine told me that he used Ritz. Its a cheap grocerystore product. mix it up in a spray bottle and spray on carpet--use a small brush to work it in. He swears by it.

For the $$$ I sugest a new correctly colored carpet. Dyes can bleed through on clothes or shoes or ????. Besides often they will have zebra stripes due to the consitancy of your arm

I agree with Space. Unless you pull the carpet out and have a big enough tub to \"Wash\" in a dye, i would save the trouble and just get a new insert.

I have done this to more than one car while cleaning it up for sale. I took out the carpet and pressure washed it with a good soap. Then I hung it up to dry. After it was dry I went to Home Depot and bought some cheap spray paint. Between each coat I would rough up the carpet with a stiff brush to fluff it up. I took about three coats. I have never tried to change colors, just fresh up what was in there. It looks like new.
