Whats needed to swap a 4x4 to all wheel drive? Is the Bravada the same as the typhoon? Is it worth the ime and money? I\'ve seen a ton of Bravadas out here (two within two blocks) so finding a donor shouldn\'t be too hard. Sorry if it\'s a dumb question or been asked a million times but i\'m a newbie to the S10s. Thanks

I believe the transfer cases need to be swaped. Also possible the front driveshaft. I believe the joints are diffferent... 1 is u-joints the other is cv joints. YOu\'d have to look at them. Also I believe you would have to make the front diff \'lock\' all the time. The awd doesn\'t have an unlocking mechansim. It should be difficult though, you could lock the vac booster on.

Thanks! I heard the trans crossmember is lower too, so I guess I need everything. Is the Bravada setup strong enough to handle 400 hp 450ft? I know my 700 and rear need to be beefed up but will the rest hold? I\'m not looking to race it ( OK maybe a little http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif ) it\'s mostly for the street.

For a quick daily driver I would think it to be OK. If you were to race it or try to do 4 whl burnouts than no it won\'t last. The awd unit is set up like a \'posi\' unit almost. The power is \'fairly\' evenly distubted between the front and the back. But, when you turn the turning raduis for each tire is different SO, the awd tcase has to have some slipage to it.

If abused, it could click/grind on cornering. Or could make the funny noises upon staright line acceleration once a tire starts to break loose.

I have only seen this once on a GM but the jeep cherokess I have replaced 6 units in the past 3 years. (We don\'t service too many jeeps)
