Hey guys,
I\'m stumped. The Driver\'s side turn signals work fine. The Passenger rear works, too. Just not the Passenger front. I replaced both bulbs and the flasher module (it was going bad, too). No change. Then I realized that the turn signal bulbs double for marker lights when the headlights are on. They work, which means the wiring is good. They just don\'t flash. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jeff

The sockets go bad sometimes. A broken wire going in to the that lamp. Take a test light and check for power. With the park lights on one should have a solid power. Put the 4ways on and the other tab should blink. It shouldn\'t if the socket is bad or the wires broken. A few inches before the plug, pierce the wire, and check for power there.
Space.

So one wire going to each socket is for blinkers and the other is for headlights? I\'ll check them and see what\'s up.
thanks,

both front sockets have 3 wires. The black one on the \'outside\' is the ground. Which is working since the parking lights work. The brown wire should be the parking lights and the ??? green or blue should be the turn.
Sorry should have clarified before.

OK - I did some looking last night and figured that probably both sockets didn\'t go bad at the same time. So I traced the wire back to where the turn signals splice together and I\'ll check it there. I need to get a new test light before I can go any further - my multimeter can\'t react quickly enough to check the turn signals. If there\'s no power at the splice, then I\'ll have to keep tracing the wire back, I guess. Do you know if it eventually ties all the way back into the fuse block?
Thanks!

I always have an old analog (needle) meter around. The digitals are great, but there are some things they just can\'t do without going to extremes. Testing capacitors is another thing that the average digitals can\'t do.....
........... So there IS still a need for a plain old dumb test lamp, and for the ancient \"needle\" mulitmeters. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Well, the new test light did the trick - You\'re right, Scotty - sometimes you have to break out the basic stuff. The sucky part is that took most of the wire out of the loom so I could trace it. Turns out one of the splices that the guy who originally built the truck did separated. Now I have to fix that - the right way this time. At least I know what I have to do. Thanks for all the help!

Just think a 25cent piece fix the problem. At least you were able to fix it yourself. Just think, if you had to pay a repair shop for your labor time.

Yeah, no kidding. Frankly, that\'s part of the reason I own the truck - to learn how to work on cars. Oil changes, plugs, and wires were never a problem, but since I bought this thing, I\'ve done quite a bit, including tearing into the motor, which was new to me. Frankly, I\'d be lost a lot of the time without the forum, though. Thanks for all your help!
