hey i got my 94 for free, bodys good but pretty scaley with rust, i took a hammer and beat on the frame rails to get most of the chunks off, im going to use a grinder get as much rust off as i can than put tha old paint to it.

The frame is solid except the little metal peice that drops down were the bumpstop is mounted, integrity of frame is fine but i was wondering if id be all right to just hack both of the bump stop mounts off?

I dont plan hauling much stuff in the back, and i dont think i will lower it.

There just there to help prevent the axel from hitting the frame. If your not going to haul anything, they\'ll never get used. Removeing them might save a hole pound or two from the scale. You could always just paint them up too.

Cool.

thier are a couple differnt paints you could use on the frame to help prevent rust. There is a rpoduct called Por15. Its expensive, most body shops or pro-restoration shops use it.

I used it on my 68 firebird. I didn\'t keep it for long so I don\'t know what time has sone to it.

I used rust-o-leum \"hammered\" for painting my frame rails. It has a rust preventive in it. You can brush it on thick. Brush strokes flow out and you get a nice clean looking surface. Its been 3 years since I did my 2wd frame. It sits in the oustside in the open and still looks \"like\'new\'\".
