Are these Valve covers a good price

Hey all,

I was thinking about getting these for my truck, but what do you guys think about the price? Is this a good deal? I like the black covers vs. chrome. But then i\'m not sure if i should get the lower covers, or the taller covers, which are avail.



Any thoughts?

thats a decent price. i myself like the tall one better. thats the ones i have with the matching breather. the tall ones were $109.00

So this will be a dumb question, but what is the difference between the two? Why would you want a tall one vs. low one? Valve clearance for some applications?

I was also thinking of trying to source a dual snorkel air cleaner with ducting. Anyone have any idea where I might pick one up for a reasonable price? Were they on all the 5.0L from 83-87 camaro and Monte SS models?

the advantage from one to the other is

1. Clearance

i have .480 lift cam with large 1.5 aluminum roller rockers. with the small valve covers they would hit the sides and top of the inside of the cover.

2. just plain looks.

no not all camaros had the duel snorkel. only certain H.O. motors. all monte ss\'s came with single snorkel. i will see if i can find one for you. the brand new ones are still and arm and two legs.

even though its a mopar unit it will work with any 4 barrel carb. just repaint.
