Finally! The truck is ready to be picked up as of this morning. They put it on the chassis dyno with the new carb (750 Holley HP - my mighty demon 650 is for sale if anyone is interested) to check A/F and seat the rings, then made a few pulls. A/F was almost perfect out of the box. It runs 14.5 at 900 rpm idle and 13.8 at cruise. 12.8 at WOT.
So, wheel hp numbers were: *drumroll*
369 hp / 381 lbft! I haven\'t seen the sheet yet, but I\'m assuming the curves look similar to the engine dyno curves - nice flat tq curve. That should be good for easy 11s with traction, don’t ya think? That was my original goal so I’m psyched. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

Real nice Andy! I guess that\'s your Christmas present...... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif
............ And yeah, sounds like it\'s running real sweet. So what was the final word? Puking gas messed up the rings, and your guy just did a re-ring? And that\'s a brand spankin\' new Holley?
............ Now you\'ve gotta buy snow tires for it? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif NOT! See you at Englishtown in the spring!

yep, brand spankin\' new 750 holley HP. I\'m running an electric fuel pump now too.
Final word is the excessively rich idle washed down the cylinders and never let the rings seal completely. They did a hone and re-ring and everything\'s looking great (for now http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif ).

So your motor is making around 460hp then hey rodder! I used 20% drivetrain loss.

It made 442 hp / 452 lbft on the engine dyno. But that was with the 650 carb, which was definitely a restriction on the 383. Now it\'s got a 750 holley, so yeah, should have picked up a few more ponies from the bigger carb. Maybe it is making around 460 flywheel now.
