Okay this motor was running before installing into the S10. We also installed a crane cam and 1.6 rockers and a used Holley carb(quadajet on running motor). Motor pops, sounds like it wants to start-no start. Turned distrubutor 180 nothing not even popping. Checked spark(have new bosch plugs) spark there but not as strong as I thought it would be(50,000v coil,25 ohm per ft wires). Need help please! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

it could be off by 90 deg. Are you using platium plugs?

I would bring it up to tdc on #1 and see where the distributor is pointing and redo the plug wires cause it sounds like it is off in the cap like cs10v8 said

I agree make sure that you are at tdc on comprsion for #1 and see where the dist is pointing. Don\'t go by the mark on the balancer cause it could have slipped.

Okay changed plugs to Autolite, checked timing, moved plug wires around on cap. Started popping then started but sound like was running on two cylinders. As soon as I let off the throttle engine died won\'t start again just pops or shoots flames out the exhaust or backfires thru the carb. Help! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif
