hey just wanted to give you guys an update on how things are going here... my truck is all tore down now, I took the whole front clip off and pulled the engine and trans.... I\'ve got the engine tore down to the short block and now I\'m starting to clean and paint everything.... that\'ll probably take me about a week.... I\'m really glad that I tore into this truck because the more stuff I take off and the more things that I can see, the more I see that needs to be fixed... I can\'t hardly belive that my truck even drove down the road before with the condition that some of the stuff is in. For example, my engine mount bolts did not have nuts on them, the drive shaft is too long, my shifter cable was almost melted completely through.... not too mention how terrible all the wiring is and the fact that my trans was leaking from about every seal that is on it.

Thats what happens when you buy used. I have bought a few nice ones but there hard to find...cheap.
Are you taken pics of the transformation? It would make a great photo show!!! Besides you have braggin rights with it.

Yea, I\'ve got about a hundred pics so far... I just have to get my wife to show me how to set up a web page so I can post a link to it on here... I\'ve pretty much got the engine back together now and I\'m going to clean up the garage today and get the truck back in to start working on it.

When you do get ready for a web page, take a look at \"cardomain.com\" The pages are free and easy to set up. That\'s where I have mine.

Yup. I\'m documenting most of my progress on my cardomain page: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/793100/3. They have problems from time to time but all in all it\'s a good easy place to show your stuff.

alright, it\'s been a few days so I have more updates... my engine is all back together. I installed everything I possibly could before I went to slide it back into the truck. I pulled it off the stand and attached the 700r4 to it and started to slide it in last night. I ended up having to take the headers and the valve covers back off for clearance. I think I could have left them on but I was really trying to be careful not to scratch up my newly painted frame, firewall, or engine so, I took them off. I finally got the engine mounts to line up and set it down, slid the mount bolts through and that is where it sits this morning. A couple of things that really helped me out with this was the fact that I had the front clip, wiper motor and power brake booster off... It really made things go a lot easier.
