I have the motor in the truck, everything is hooked up except the wiring harness, I have heard of LHT\'s harness but they never awnser the phone or reply to e-mails.
I was wondering if anyone had the knowledge here to splice the harnesses together. I don\'t have knowledge of the computer setup. I am used to my 84 chev and the carb setup.
Can anyone help me
My truck is a 97 ZR2 and the motor is out of a 97 silverado 5.7 4x4

Do you have the complete harness from the firewall plugs to the the computer to the engine? if so send the computer off to have VATS security removed from it once thats done Let me know and I\'ll get wiring diagrams for both trucks and engines and make a few pictures of them up to send oiff to you showing what wires need to go were. Oh make sure you send the computer off to a reputable shop there are a lot of rip off artists out there maybe someone on here can give you a shop in your local area. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

Just lay out both harnesses from the V6 and the V8 and compare them for differences. There should be a coulple more wires in the V8 harness than the V6. Then remove the V8 wires from the harness and add them to the V6 harness. Put the V6 harness back into the truck because the V8 harness is routed differently. Its not hard just look closely at them. Don\'t froget when you get it runnning to have the computer reprogrammmed for your tire size, tranny ect.. I am going to be doing this same swap this spring into my 97 S10 4X4 so I have done all the homework.

98 was the first year for the key theft security system on the vortec trucks so don\'t worry about that. Just be sure to either get a Hypertech Power programmer or else go down to your local GM dealer and have them reprogram the eprom for you.

I\'m not sure i will need a hyper tech III.
My truck has a 4l60 and 3.73 gears and 31\'s The drive train is exactly the same as the truck it came out of, and the tires are close enough, I might buy a hp III in the future.

Yep you can add wires to the harness for the extra injectors should be the only wires missing but if you do it this way make sure to connect all your pollution control equipment otherwise the engine wont run right even with a chip. and yes the 97 does have VATS I was a GM Mecanic its only in the Vortecs in 97+ thow not the LT series engines. And some of the vortecs near the start of the year shipped without VATS so you may be lucky. The stock harness is a bit nitty gritty so if you want I can make a harnesses for you, if you want to go more towards the performance side of things and like a nice clean harness thats easy to hook up it uses an f-body 727 computer and comes performance programmed already the only change you would have to make to the motor is to swap your distributor for that of an 89 chevy pickup distributor because the computer uses a different hall effects sensor. if you do go this way make sure to swap your cam gear from the orginal distributor to the 89 or you\'ll trash your Cam shaft but thats easy you just nock out the pin pull the gear off put the new one on and put the pin back in. Let me know. I can send a pic of the wire harness I made for mine if your interested Ive done a few hotrod in my area I can send pics of them aswell.

ICE QUEEN,
I\'m destroking a 355 with a 327 crank (making a 332), using 11:1 comp pistons( with 64cc heads), using 76cc heads with 194 intake valves, 1.6 rockers, .447/.447 lift cam( with 1.5 rockers ) making .4768/.4768 lift.
It\'s going into a 1990 s-10 blazer that had a 4.3 with TBI and a 700r4.
I\'m planning on using a TPI.
I know that I might be able to use the stock wiring harness with a few mods. and updating the ECM.
Where do I add the wiring for the new 2 injectors ? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

I\'ll run TBI with a 350 untill I get my 332 built.
I aquired a manifold and a dist.
Are the modules in the dist. the same in a 4.3 and a 5.7 of do I have to get a new module ?
The 8 cyl. dist. was missing the module.(pickup)
I\'ll get the ECM info in a few days so I can learn how to modify the harness for the TPI for my 332.b

You should pick up a new module anyway but yeah there is a slight difference the module takes into account the extra cyl\'s..
infact dont use the 4.3L dist just get a junkyard and throw a new rotor and cap on it will save you some hasles.
