Hey all.

I got home 2 days ago, truck was running fine. I went out next morning, tried to start it, it wouldn\'t start. I finally got it started, but i had to keep my foot halfway down on the gas to keep it going. If i let it off, it would instantly stall. I did this until it warmed up and it was still stalling when i took my foot off the gas. the choke is open as it should, etc.

In order to keep it running, i had to turn the idle up like 3-4 turns. The whole truck reeks like gas and there is black oily stuff spewing out of the tail pipes at the back. I\'m assuming it is flooding itself or something. I\'m not really sure what to do here. The carb is less than 2 mths old, it\'s a holley 600cfm, with vac. sec. and elect. choke.

Any idea\'s what I should do?

Like I said, it\'s been running fine up until 2 days ago.

Thanks

Sounds like you got a float hung open-maybe trash in carb.

I agree with adh383.

Do you have a fuel filter installed. If not that could be the cause of the problem.

hey there.

Yeah, there\'s a brand new filter on there. I put it on when i put the carb on.

Is it easy to fix a stuck float?

What should I be doing to fix?

Thanks

does your carb have sight holes? You can see the gas level in them.

Hey guys,

I think i half solved the problem. I pulled the screws out of the side and readjusted the floats, which seems to have made a difference. It is running pretty good now once it\'s warmed up. I\'m still having a bit of a prob. when it\'s cold though. I have trouble keeping it going while it warms up. It sort of sputters a bit and if i keep giving it a bit of gas, it will eventually stop sputtering. Also, when it\'s warm and if it\'s sat for 15 or 20 min. I\'m having trouble getting it going too. It doesn\'t want to start. I have to keep pumping and pumping while i turn the key.

I\'m wondering if it\'s just a minor adjustment thing or what.

Anyways, i apologize for the continuous questions on this, I\'m just not good with carbs.

Any suggestions/recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks

Geoff
