what do you all think?? over?? ill be happy with even 340ish hp...

those numbers definitely seem on the overly optimistic side just from my thoughts. 340hp seems realistic though.
only thing i will point out is that a 750cfm carb is going to be way too big for a 305 given those specs, the computer wont tell you that. go 600 or 650max

yeah i agree with knanthrup I wouldn\'t go with no bigger than a 650 carb maybe even a 600 will be fine.

I think the \"large tube headers\" are throwing it off, I use \"HP Manifolds\" for small tube headers most of the time since the program is a little over optimistic. I agree a 750 is too big..
You also need to put in your cam specs at .050 to get a better Idea of whats really going on.
EDIT: What cc are your chambers on your heads? 64 or 58? I think your compression might be off too unless your running dome pistons, if your running flat tops, are they 4 valve relief or 2?

i just kinda ballparked for the comp ratio, i kinda thought they would be off...... theyre going to be 58cc heads, and 4 valve releif pistons.....

1. the program has no point of diminishing returns to speak of when it comes to induction. you could put an 1100 cfm carb on it and itll say that you got a power gain. if go with no bigger than a 600 cfm carb on it.
2. same thing goes for the exhaust. anytime i dyno stuff on there i run it with small tube headers - open exhaust. with the way monern exhaust components are, cats and mufflers arent a restriction
3. youll want to either run a thick head gasket or put some dished pistons in there to get that comp ratio down.
4. make sure the specs for the cam you have in there are measured seat to seat. most cams are measured at .050
5. you got way too much overlap in there for a street motor
6. theres no forkin blower on there...whats the deal???

im workin on one right now with vortec heads, ill let you know in a little while once the iterator is done. offhand you got the cam and head specs for that motor?

360 hp @ 6500 rpm
336 ft/lbs @ 5000 rpm
vortec heads, 600 cfm 4 bbl carb or f.i., small tube headers, same cam as you got but with 27º of overlap.
this program is supposedly within 10% accurate so 10% up and down would be 324 hp low and 396 hp high.
ill be back, still playing with it.

over 420 horse, still playing. changed to a roller cam and bowtie vortec heads, changed the cam

well, i already have the cam, it is the comp 265deh, i dont think the overlap numbers on there are right though....... and the heads im planning on using are the world products s/b torquer 305...

ok smith, for playing with it, heres the numbers on the cam:
adv dur: 265 int. 269 exhaust
@ .050 211 int. 221 exhaust
lift: .442 int. .465 exhaust
lobe separation 110.0
the specific grind number is CS 265DEH-10
with those numers i put in, it gives -4.0 degrees of overlap ?!? i seem to think that that isnt right......
