What are the differences between the 2wd 10 bolt\'s and the 8.8 rear ends aside that some of the 8.8 come with disks? I know that the explorer and mustang come with that rearend. Is an 8.8 better out of mustang verses the explorer or the other way around? I\'m planning on welding the rear end on so spring configuration isn\'t an issue. (4-link) Thanks in advance

I\'m running a ford 8.8 rear out of a 98 explorer same as mustang I have a posi and 4.10s disc brakes direct bolt in just relocate for lower shock mounts and fittings from ford to chevy brakes lines. have been with this set up for over 3 years now you will love it! stops on a dime! over 400hp and holding.

That might work on a blazer but the frame on an s-10 and a blazer are not the same.

Im pretty sure that the blazer rear end is wider from mounting flange to mounting flange. And I know the ZR2 is wider that both reg. blazer and trucks. The rear end out of an explorer is wider than a 2wd truck. I dont remember exactly how much wider though.

.yes 8.8 will fit with correct backspacing and welding relocating shockmounts. blazer has same length as s10 truck on rear axle.

Thanks for the replys. I think that I\'m going to stick to my stock rearend for now, but keep my eyes open for a stronger one. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif
