dual exhaust

I was bored today so i called around for some prices on dual exhaust. I used to work for a place in Berlin WI that specialized in custom exhaust. So i gave them a call and since my truck is an 86 he\'s trying to tell me that i need a converter, since it came with one. Now i worked at this place for about a year...it was roughly 6 or 7 years ago though, but we always did exhaust with no converter. If it didn\'t have one when it came in then it wasn\'t required to have one on the vehicle. If it had one on it when it came in then it needed to have one on it when it left. Maybe the law changed with in the last couple years...i don\'t know, but i really hate to put converters on it. Shit...nothing is ever easy. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif

when i had mine done they said they would have to charge me for the cats, but they didn\'t put them on.

as far as i know its not illegal to install an exhaust without one.. its only illegal to REMOVE a perfectly working convertor.

Same here i hate the catz put on but onl lasted a few days and took them out. put a pipe where the catz where. But wasted money on catz is not always fun! maybe try to see if he will do it under the table ? i dunno but goodluck

there should be a few places that will do it for you look for the shop with the hot rod parked out back thats always a good indicator of a \"cash\" service shop--once had some done but i didnt get a reciept hmmmmmm
