I was just wondering if anyone had a good seat swap for an S-10. I have a worn out bench seat now and would like to swap to something different. There is a local junk yard that has all kinds of cars. Some of the seats are ok and others are worse than the bench I have. Fabricating brackets isn\'t a problem. I just want something that looks good and fits like it was meant for it. Maybe buckets with a center console? Thanks in advance.

If you measure overall width and make sure there is enough floorpan room for brackets you can use anything thats not too wide to close doors http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif

If you are weight concious----and dont mind a not so comfortable seat, till you get used to it---i used a plastic low back seat from summit--buckets. different colors of covers are available, and the brackets to mount them with a little bit of work to get them level.

I can have my choice of different cars to choose from and thought that maybe I could get something out of a junk car. I wouldn\'t really mess with it but the seats are free.

buckets out of an s10 or blazer will bolt right in. youll have to drill and weld nuts in for the inside tracks though. seats out of a camaro will fit, etc. most GM seats will bolt right in. the idea i have been toying with lately is getting the seats from a fiero and putting my seat tracks on em then bolting those into the truck. the seats have speakers in them.

I agree with Riotpolice, I replaced the bench seat in my 87 s10 with buckets from a newer blazer. All I had to do is take the inside brackets for the buckets out fo the blazer and weld them to the floor of the s10. fits great and looks good to. I also took the centre console and brackets, did the same thing and it looks great as well.

I did that in an old 77 k5 blazer. It was kind of hard to get my dad to understand why i had to have the fiero seats but it sure was cool once i hooked up the speakers. Its unbelievable how loud those speakers were to the person sitting in it. Im surprised that no-one does those stlye seats anymore because you could jam the stereo but since it was right there at your head it didnt really disturb anyone else going down the road.

The seats in my truck came out of a early 90\'s buick skyhawk or skylark cant remember exactly... I had to do a lil modifing to get them to fit but nothing a welder couldn\'t solve.... Take a look in my profile theres a decent pic of em.
