hey guys i have a 406 steel crank 5.7 rods with flat tops with 882 heads with 1.94 and 1.5 valves the cam is a lunati cam braket 2 246 @ 50 straight and 515 straight and 108 LSA. no port work yet maybe but i wonder about how much power will this put out roughly. any help would be nice thanks for your replies. nick

id say around 375-400

how could i get more power out of it. i would say the heads but that i will get next year. nick

1.94 valves on the big bore small block will hold you back. Heads are the first thing to save your money for.

Dont waste any money on those #882 heads for any reason. Grim didnt mean to put 2.02s in those smoggers...



Get some good heads and youll really wake that thing up.

Sell them heads for whatever you can get out of them and buy a set of reputible aftermarket ones when you have enough money saved. Around 215cc is a good place to start. A little smaller if it is mostly street and you want more torque.

My program shows 380 hp with the 882 heads. 469 hp If you change to dart Iron Eagle 215 heads. Both numbers are with 750 DP, performer RPM intake, 1 5/8\" Headers and 10.4 compression.

i got the heads for 150 all ready to run. i figure i will get the heads and probly the rpm air gap and headers when money allows me to. you guys know how it is. i really appreciate it guys. you guys have helped out alot. nick

This would be a great time to try pocket porting. The 1.94 intake valve is leaves a lot of material for improvement of the intake bowls.
