I was looking around on the internet today and stumbled across a transgo manual shift kit for the 4l60e. It uses a vacuum modulator for throttle pressure and the shifter only. No electronics! Has anyone used one of these.
I called and talked to a tech at transgo and he makes it sound pretty slick.
I currently have the tci controller but I\'m not happy with it and I have to shift it manually anyway.

That looks pretty sweet. I might try one out too.
Keep us posted as to how it turns out. We\'re using the original 4L60E on our project and would be interested to see how it turns out.

I put the TCI trans-scat in my current trans and it seems to be working fine. I\'m going to rebuilt my original trans and then use the manual kit. It may be a couple months but I will let you know.
Bowtie, what are you using for the controller for your trans? Is it the TCI controller PLUS the trans-scat? Are you using your original controller?

I started with a TCI controller on my stock trans. It shifted really weak from 2nd to 3rd then O.D. started slipping. I had a spare 4l60e out of a parts truck that had a recent rebuild. So I put the TCI Trans scat kit and a .490 boost valve in it. Transmission shifts really good and strong now but the controller still doesn\'t control shift points like I want it to. Part throttle shifts are fine but wide open throttle, 1-2 shift is great, 2-3 shift is really early, and then it immediately shifts to overdrive. I have to hold it in the gear I want. I might as well have a manual shift kit.
