I feel kinda embarrased to post this but anyway....

On my 97 350 vortec the manifold on the drivers side flares out quite a bit, when I tried to put it on the steering column in in the way.

What headers should I buy? Links? I want to make sure I get the right headers because the vortec has that 1 inch hose that comes out of the back of the manifold to the intake (I think thats where it goes to), i\'m not sure what its use is? Can I plug it off? Is there manifolds that are designed for a s-10 4x4 v-8 swap?

Can I use a different set of manifolds off of another car/truck? Which other engines have a slimmer driver manifold that have that hose hookup?

Its a 97 zr2 with a 97 5.7 vortec

Thanks

Get yourself a set of 89 cutlass supreme manifolds they\'ll fit away from the steering column. The metal line going to your intake manifold is your EGR it brings engine temps down by chocking the engine using innert gas thats already burned by the engine. you can plug your EGR port off if your not worried about pollution control but with the right cat you should be fine.

there also is aftermarket kits for headers to run a pipe up for the egr to the intake im not sure of the company but i have seen a few on fullsize trucks when they install headers.
