i just pulled a 350 out of a 62 pick up and it fires right up starter is fine but i was wondering why s10v8 sells a mini starter is it better with the clearance of the headers ..... should i buy one of run what i have?

stock chevy starter is what im running. no need in buying another one if the one you have works.

i have a CSI mini starter and it is real close. most people cant fit a full size starter. thats why the mini starter is always mentioned for the swap. try it out and if it doesnt fit then you know you will need a mini.

i put a normal factory starter in mine and it is a little tight around the frame but it fits. thatis if you got a 168 tooth flex plate the 153 tooth flex plate you get a little more room. hope this helps. nick

mines close but i was looking under the truck today and it looks like i need to shift the engine over alittle bit anyways. which would give me more room.

i have a 153 flexplate witha a small stock starter and it has plenty of room. I just have to get my mini starter fixed because I like it when it starts faster. My combo is what would come on a 78 monte with a 305.
