hey guys i got a problem with my truck every time i go to start my truck it starts easy untile a certain part then it acts like the timing is advanced a little to far but it is not i have messed with it but still does it i have no shimms in it yet i treid 1 shim and it seemed like it got worse. any help would be nice because i just got it going and dont want to mess anything up more then it is. atleast i hope nothing is messed up. thanks for reading. nick

what gauge wire are you running to the silenoid? if it turns over fiine and the bogs you might be loosing voltage. or a weak battery? usually if you need to shim a starter the problem will be a grinding or a symptom like that.

It almost sounds to me like you have a couple plug wires crossed. You may check over your firing order again.

It may not apply in this particular case, but I had to replace a new flywheel because it was out of round (right out of the box) and did pretty much did the same thing your describing.

Could also be a bad ground. Have you done anything to it lately?
