Will the mounts i bought, actually work?

Hey all,

I bought some mounts for the v8 conversion that i am getting ready to do.

My truck is a 1988 4.3l S10. Will these really work with my 4.3l mounts like it says?

i think that is what the hole in one of them is for? i bought mine used off ebay for $20 or so but mine were for the 2.8 frame mounts? i always wondered what the hole in the mount was for?

i know they will work with the 2.8 mounts.i guess they will work with the 4.3 ones.the hole is so that they will sit as low as possible on the stock mounts.the stock mount auctually sticks through the hole a little.

I just went through this on mine. You need the 2.8 mounts to go with these.



The 4.3 rubber mount attaches to the engine with a solid mount on the crossmember.



The 2.8 mount has a solid mount on the motor with an encapsulated rubber mount on the crossmember.



BTW, I built brackets to reuse the 4.3 mounts when I did my swap. BAD IDEA!! the 4.3 mounts are way too soft. Lots of motor twisting and flexing. Now I have the 2.8 mounts on the crossmember with transdapt mounts on the engine. No problems now.

So i need the 2.8 mounts after all.... Hmm.... Now im pretty pissed off, because i even messaged the seller, and asked him the same question. He told me that those mounts will work with EITHER the 2.8 or the 4.3 mounts.

That\'s just false information then. I\'ll file a complaint.

I could only get one of your links to work, the one with the brackets. Didn\'t see any 2.8 mounts. He may send you the 2.8 mounts. If so, you won\'t have any problems. If you still need the 2.8 mounts, they\'re pretty cheat at O\'reilly\'s.

No, he didnt send any 2.8 mounts at all. Just the brackets that were in the pic. Its just pretty stupid for him to say that they will work with the 4.3 mounts, when they wont...

My truck had the 4.3 I had to buy 2.8 frame AND 2.8 motor mounts if I remember correctly.
