talked to a guy at the salvage yard yesterday, he said they put weights on the axle, custom made lead weights. don\'t see how the axle can hold enough weight to make a difference. Also are there any viable options using the S10 7 5/8 rearend? like adding a locker?

most people dont think before they speak. Adding weight to the truck defeats the purpose of having a light truck.. if your looking for the easy way out tub it.. if you wanna go fast and have people REALLY respect ya... get it to hook with a 10\" tire.

VERY TRUE

Everybody likes my camaro ran 9.30-40 at 149 with 10\" tire and bolt on traction device.

I wouldnt add any weight but if you do, dont put it on the axle, you want as little unsprung weight as possible. Also nhra says that any added weight must be attached directly to the frame of the vehicle.

my brothers monte carlo had air shocks in the back, but to get it to hook up we disconnedted the left side and pumped up the right side. it looks funny as hell when he\'s at the line but when he nails it the axle evens out and he picked up alot of time. once we rebuild his posi we\'ll probly scrap that whole idea but it works ok on an open diff.

all i do for traction is feather the trottle a lil and when it hooks rug it, it works, with slicks i can take off at about 3/4 throttle, and it hooks pretty good, at full throttle they break loose, and i have an all stock suspension with3\" lowering blocks... no wheel hop at all, i\'m going to be making my own traction bars though out of a 1\" tube then they will bolt to the front spring perch and to the u bolt holdown dealy under the springs, should stop the axel from wrappin around on me period, it\'ll be very stiff
