i am no beginer when it comes to s-10\'s.i have had 7 s-10\'s,and 4 blazers(so far).i have only had one king cab,and it was a 98 with a 4.3 5sp(fast for a 4.3),and completed 2 v8 swaps(a 94 sonoma, and 88),but i have never owned a older style king cab of any kind, but have always loved them, and trying to find one now.anyhow what i was thinking about is traction.it seems to me that the closer the motor is to the rear wheels in a s-10 would help traction a little.it would seem to me that a reg cab truck would be better off traction wise than a king cab, because the engine is closer to the rear wheels.am i crazy for thinking this?.im a pretty big guy,and want to do another s-10 v8 swap, but i need more room.this truck will not be a daily driver, but will be built like one, because i plan on taking it on a few long trips,so it will be with overdrive.anyone know the weight difference between a reg vs king cab?.....sorry for the long post..i will stop mumbling

weight difference id gues around 150-200#s max. Traction...with a overdrive tranny the low first gear is gonna be more of traction killer than the weight. The formula for traction is simple...weight off the front add to the rear. Slapper bars will keep the rear from wrapping up which helps to but wont do it entirely

I sold my 83 ext. cab about 2 yrs. ago.Full interior, myself-245,fuel cell in backw/battery weighed 3420. Traction is a big difference even w\' slapper bars and 12.5 e.t. streets. But made great for long hauls.
