Does anyone know what size the fitting is that goes into the clutch master cylinder. I am running 4AN braided lines from the tranny slave cylinder to the master cylinder and so far every 4AN to so and so size just hasn\'t worked. This is for an 89 s10.

most brake fittings are not AN but inverted flare or double inverted flare. Just get an adapter from Summit/Jegs or some automotive store. This is an autmotive only thread, so only very special and cool hardware stores would carry something like this.

ummmm you wouldn\'t be doing an NV3500 would you?

Your best bet is to go to a junkyard and find a truck with the lines still there. Cut the lines with enough space left on the ends to put on tube nuts and sleeves and just mate it to your braided line that way. Those fittings are weird sizes, when I swapped a NV3500 in place of my 700R4, I couldnt find those fittings anywhere, even the dealer didn\'t have them. I ended up having the GM hydraulic line special ordered ($120!!!) I wish I had gone with braided line instead of dumping all that $$$. I\'m not 100% positive, but even though the lines themselves are different between the T5 and NV3500 cylinders, I THINK the fittings are the same.

Haha you guys are too funny. I just went down to Napa and matched the ends to steel brake line sections (its the same thing). Since the slave is so far away on the passenger side i mated 2 sections together. Total cost about $12, works great.

the fittings for the NV3500 shit was different. it was metric fittings. trust me i spend a half hour with the guy at the parts store trying to get something to work. im just gonna rebend the old line from my old 4x4 s10. its 90 bucks at the dealer for a brand new one which really isnt that bad but im not in the position to pay 90 bucks.

They have converter ends that you just screw on. I went through it too when I swapped my NV3500 about 5 years ago. I just grabbed some brake line and put the ends on and she was good to go. I\'ll see if I can identify what the outside threads are on them so you guys can find them. I know they sell that at most places that carry brake or hydraulic line.

I put a muncie 4 speed in mine. But as said, I have tried every 4AN to sae size and none has worked. 4AN to 6AN works but 6 seems to loose, and i haven\'t tried 7 yet so who knows.

i noticed summit has AN to metric fittings also. I am going to try those out. If anyone happens to know the size of the threads, please post it. I have to wait until this weekend to measure them.

I used the factory master cylinder with an aftermarket hydraulic throwout bearing. I found a adapter fitting at the local car quest parts store. It was like a 10 or 12 mm metric adapter to -4. I just searched the internet until I found a company that made a adapter that I needed and then found a local distributor. If I can find the company I will post that too.

I believe it was plews-edelman at this web site. I think you are looking for a standard adapter to metric bubble fitting.

It is 12mm x 1.0 for future reference.
