It would make your Toyota not suck as bad, if you happened to own one.

well, everyone is into something different. i know that even a lot of s-10 guys do 4cyl and even 2.8 coversion over to camaro 3.1 and 3.4. For a lot of those toyota guys its just about getting enough torque to run those huge tires. in a lightweight truck like those a v6 is probably enough and may not want to put too much weight over ne spot with a v8.

just my thought

personally. i think everything should have a chevy v8 in it. fords included. as far as the 3.1 or 3.4 conversion go, its a good idea if youre looking for a pretty much direct bolt in job. id still opt for the v8 though. the weight differences are easily overcome and you cant beat the power.

I see your functional point to that, but I am going to have to strongly disagree as a matter of personal preference. Why? Because every hotrod show I go to, you look under the hood and it\'s a 350 chev. It doesn\'t matter whether it\'s a \'32 Ford or a \'65 impala. One word - BORING. I can\'t agree more that a small block chevy is one of the best overall engines out there, power functionality, reliability, amazing aftermarket available, but it\'s just too standard now.

I would much rather see a Ford flathead in that \'32 ford and a 396 or a 409 in that impala. Ratrods with hemi\'s are really cool, nailheads, etc, anything with a little more flare to them. Now a 350 in an S-10 is great because it\'s a little more unexpected, and for me it was because of the affordability, but it would not be my #1 choice if I had more cash to spend. That said, I am absolutely satisfied and happy with my smallblock powered s-dime http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

all just my opinion, dont expect anyone to agree

I tend to follow the same line of preference to not \"bastardize\" the vehicle. Hence the flathead in the model-t, 409 in the impala, etc. Whatever it is its gotta be some sort of a radial \"upgrade\" of sorts within the same brand. Not everyone follows by that rule, and I can respect that. I just like going against the grain of common swaps. I think the smallblock chevy has found its way into almost every kind of make, volvo, toyota, suzuki, honda, nissan, ford, etc i have seen atleast a few of all of those and more

this will probably upset a few people but here it goes.... I\'m a firm believer that every auto maker has good cars and a car is a good car until it breaks. I used to turn wrenches for GM so, I usually lean towards their products. But I have to admit that I have a 500.00 isuzu pup that I beat back and forth to work... I got this truck cause it was cheap and beat all to crap and it still runs good... I picked it up, changed the headlights and wiper blades and havn\'t done anything else to it... it has 230,000 miles on the original 4 cyl and gets about 35 mpg.... sure its a rough truck but I turn wrenches all the time and I don\'t mind driving a beater as long as the wife has something nice to drive... she drives a 03\' explorer sport trac... thats what she wanted and thats what she got.... of course I always have a few a toys hanging around... I have the S-10 wich in my opinion is the best car that we have and I have an 03\' ninja that I ride around on. My point is that just b/c a car doesn\'t say chevrolet on the side doesn\'t mean it\'s a POS.
