i think the best would be a soft aluminum one or the copper ones. they say that you\'ll never need to replace them and there reuseable. I plan on getting the aluminum ones for my shorties.

yep, when i get my new headers and after they come back from getting gel coated i will use aluminum for sure, i\'ve had a damn collector gasket leak forever and i hate it, but not going to do anything because i getting the new headers, i wish i had used the aluminum ones before.

Aluminum header and collector gaskets are the way to go.

The 3 peice alluminums are the best thing since sliced bread fellas. Especially since if one of them blows on a primary you can just losen 2 bolts and pull out the old one and slide in the new one....dont have to pull the whole freaking thing. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

on the application tab on that page it lists all the engines they work with,

CHEVROLET 262 -

CHEVROLET 265 -

CHEVROLET 267 -

CHEVROLET 283 -

CHEVROLET 302 -

CHEVROLET 305 -

CHEVROLET 307 -

CHEVROLET 327 -

CHEVROLET 350 -

CHEVROLET 400

so if your putting the hedman shorties on a smallblock then they will work.

yup!

Also im not using any gaskets at all, thats right no gaskets. the last time i had to replace the gasket i just welded the pipe to the header and cut it down lower so i could make a slip joint.

So for practical reason i have a set of long tube header! haha any how i will be using aluminum one when i replace the header later.
