View Full Version : Parts list
Here is my parts list of what I have as of now-
If anyone notices anything major that I still need to get please let me know.
1987 S-10 Standard Cab Shortbed Pickup
350 4 bolt main engine with all front accesories and everything needed - complete from pan to carb
Turbo 350 Transmission with 6 inch tailshaft
Hedman Shorty Headers
TD Performance Motor Mounts
B&M Light Truck Megashifter with everything needed
Volts, Amps, Oil Pressure, Temp Gauges
Tach
Dual Exhaust
B&M Shift Kit
2.8L Frame Mounts
1985 Iroc Camaro Radiator
All hoses for coolant etc.
I know that I still need a throttle cable, downpipes for the exhaust, and a driveshaft. Other than spark plugs and other small stuff, does it appear that I\'m missing anything major? I\'m trying to come up with a checklist so I don\'t get a few hours into the project and realize that I need alot of parts.
Thanks.

prob missed alot of stuff here. but this gives you a clue of what to expect & then some. this doesn\'t include food for my helpers, drinks or gas money for parts shopping. At one time or another i had added some suff up and was at 2500+ for the truck, and the truck itself was only $100.00.
Hey Mike -- It looks to me like I have everything on your list except the fuel pump and filter, maybe the trans dipstick (not sure if I still have mine), What is a detent cable?
Also I\'ve never driven my truck but the owner said he thought it had an electric fuel pump. How do I set up my fuel system? I\'d like to run a mechanical fuel pump.
Thanks for the quick and lengthy reply. Other than these few minor things it looks like I\'m ready to go. The only thing stopping me now is the month and a half or so that I have to wait to get started.
the kick down cable for the trans i think.
just pop your manual fuel pump on and disable your electric one by cutting a wire or pulling a fuse, the manual will pull through the electric, no need to take it out.

Zack I would go to the trouble of dropping the tank and pulling the pump. Just put a piece of hose in ot\'s place. You don\'t have to but it makes it eassier on your mechanical pump to pull fuel up to your carb. As for the detent cable...you for sure have to have it ah=justed correctly. It will not only make your tranny shift right but also give you the full range of your carbs secondaries. You will have to plug your return line on your fuel lines as your was oriinaly an injected truck. It\'s the smaller line in the system.
Hope this helps you some.
