I am removing the rubber rub rails off the side of my 90 model S-10. Those things were put on there for life.

I am (with much difficulty) able to pry/pull those things off but the two sided sticky tape doesnt want to budge. I used a heat gun (blow dryer on steroids) to get most of it and a buddy of mine told me about a product 3M makes that will get the glue off.

Question is does anyone know the part number of the right stuff? I bought a can and I want to make sure it\'s the right stuff before I open it. Thanks ... Dave http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

I\'m pretty sure the PN is 38080 and it works really well. I\'ve used it to remove old weather striping adhesive before. I don\'t have any right now but I\'m pretty sure the part number is right.

I\'ve used it before. Works pretty good if you let it soak a long time to get under there. I found it at my local auto parts store (Murrays Discount Auto).

I finally found a can locally. All they had was the spray can and it cost me 16.00 plus change (ouch). To me thats way too high but it does work. It takes a lot of rubbing but it gets the goo off.
