I have found several throttle body spacers on ebay for around $30(for my dodge Durango 5.9L)I am wondering if anyone has used any of these and if they noticed any difference. They claim to add a few horsepower, but more importantly they claim to give you 2-3 more miles more per gallon.Any opinions?

My buddy bought one for his full size x-cab dodge. IT didn\'t work - or at least nothing could be proven.

He said as for power - \"seat-of-pants\" felt the same. fuel mileage no change noticed.

With his statements I would say \"Don\'t waste you money.\" I didn\'t try one personally so ??? I just dunno!

Space.

i had one on my 03 gmc sierra with the 4.8 in it.it seemed to me it gave a little more torque, and the throttle response was quicker, but nothing major, and it could have all been in my head, lol

for what little they cost on ebay i would give it a try.

I wouldnt fool with it. They are not worth the money on a stock vehicle.

I had heard many good things but noticed nothing on my 4.3. I guess I\'m a sucker.

Also, in the durango, it should be multi point fuel injection. I can\'t logically see any advantage to using one. This is one of those things that if it works so well, why aren\'t they original equipment?

SS Hot Rods (http://www.sshotrods.com)

They have a lot of write ups on bolt ons. How to do them and if they experienced any power.

The TB spacer, according to them, didnt change anything.

we used to use them in the dyno room when i was in school. keep in mind we were working on nascar motors that were making upwards of 750 - 800 horsepower. we tried all combinations of spacer heights and bore arrangements and at MOST we saw 2 - 3 horsepower and about the same torque increase through the whole powerband. this is on a motor with a volumetric efficiency rating of 120% or more. the most that will do for you is gain you an additional 1/20th of a second on a track.

like bowtie316 said, if theyre that good then why werent they original equipment?

thats probably how they test most products.they test them on 20k motors on a dyno, and advertise them to work on stock motors, and whats up with some of these \"cold air\" kits that exit under the hood?.when im under the hood i never feel any cold air, even though ive had quit a few of them, lol

popular mechanics did a test on some of that stuff like the \"tornado\" and the swirl spacers. you know the stuff that creates a vortex to gain more power and fuel mileage. Well like all the reviews said\"it doesnt work\" but since summit, jegs and every other auto parts store sells em so people buy it.

Kind of like when your car is dirty for a while cuz you dont have time to wash it. then you wash it and it seems to go faster. hahaha http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
