I used my stock cross member and my old tranny mount off of my 4 speed for mine. What motor was in yours? you should be able to use your tranny mount and cross member like I did and I think most everybody here that used the TH-350 did.

Thanks Racer1182. My S10 has the 2.8 liter motor and the guy at the wrecking yard said there will be about a 2\" difference in the original trans mount bolts to the th350 trans mount bolt holes??? He showed me a trans.there that he said came out of a S10 and it had a fabricated pipe bolted to it that he said I would need to copy? I havn\'t tried to install the th350 yet, just trying to gather info.in order to be prepared,or at least close.

My truck is an 85 that did have the manual 4 cylinder. I used the stock tranny mount from a 71 impala (turbo 350). I moved the trans crossmember to the rear set of holes. It worked like a charm. No slotting or drilling needed. Of course my motor is set back far enough for my HEI to have just enough room to remove the cap.

your right, too little. We found that out the hard way, when we replaced the cam, you have to pull the intake to get the distributor out. It would be alright with a smaller distributor or firewall mods. Or you might be able to slide the motor forwards and just use the front crossmember holes.

Thanks guys, the transmission I got from the wrecking yard is also a 70\'s(mid) model.I do plan on dropping it off at a trans.shop for an inspection(hold on wallet http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif ) http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif and will try to use the existing trans mount and trucks crossmember. And if it doesn\'t want to fit,I\'ll figure it out,,,,my favorite tools are sledge hammers and sawzalls http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif (gets a whole lot done, real fast).Just kidding http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

I had to make an adapter plate. About 2\" offset I think.
