you dont need a whole lotta power just low gears, hella traction and a light vehicle. if you have those three things i think 250-275 hp would lift some wheels

weight transfer and traction. I new a guy with a mustang that did wheelies on street tires, he had no shocks in the front of it, and would just gas it over and over till it hopped so much it would lift the wheels off the ground...lol, i lost money on that bet!!!! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

a guy in topwn put a 455 olds toranodo drivetrain into a dodge d-50 mid engine he had it set up so the enigne was in teh back on a 10\" bfg he could lift the front tires and carry them well past the 60ft mark... there was only about 300hp too...
it was a hella sweet truck but now he put a 5.7 deisel in it http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif i don;t get it... and he asked if he could get 3 grand for it if he were to sell it if i would have had the money it would have been mine... but yeah lots of traction and weight transfer can get the tires off the ground easily with 300hp...
if i had lots of traction i know i could lift the wheels pretty good... but i don;t have loads of money to put the suspension under my truck to do it

Here\'s a new question to add on to it:
Has anyone ever seen a car lift it\'s tires on the street? I\'ve never seen it but I think it would be bad ass to watch. Imagine the look on the guys face next to you trying to race when your front tires even with his side window.

yeah i have seen it done. A guy that i know that lives up north by chicago named Eric can do it with his car. He considers it a street car, but i dont know if it could really be considered one. It is a 1951 Austin Healey with a blown 350 pushing 650hp...the car dont weigh more than like 2800lbs. It dont lift the tires that far up, but it can crush pop cans!! and you should see the look on peoples faces at the stop lights.

If I had better tires I could probably do it last way in for my truck 2360 pounds. Ive lightened it just a bit. I wont be able to tell till the roads clean up in spring.

First off the engine has a lot of aluminum in it I have fivber glass hood & fenders complete custom wire harness larger titanium torsion bars I removed the spare wheel assembly from the rear aswell as its cross member boxed the frame. rear bed fenders are also fiberglass. I also choped a lot of excess metal off the front rad cross memeber removed the air bags and abs assemblies. and soon to do the door skins if I can find someone whos does them with the quality I like all the fiberglass on my truck is harwood incase your curios.
I originaly got this truck from a junk yard it was ran into an 18 wheeler hard to believe it looks like it does now. was a gift from my uncle he owns a yard down in BC canada wish he would have taken some before pictures for me he fixed the front frame rails and did the fiberglass work and had it painted to the truck orginial GM night blue.

buffhomer\'s stang pulls the wheels, and it only makes 252hp and the wheels. Its all traction and gearing. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif
