Bought the 2.8 mounts and the Adaptor Plates for the v8 swap but they don\'t work. After swapping left to right & right to left still had to add a new plate on the adaptors to make them lineup. Added a new trans mount, so every thing seems to be where its supposed to be. Used a 350 from a gmc van (1976). Could this some how have a different mount pattern? I\'m only 3/4 of an inch from the rad. so I will have to use a elec. system, its cheaper than the short water pump with all the parts, and allows me to use my ac. Also I swapped the flywheel from the 4.3 and the 4.3 starter works but one bolt bracket is broke so I purchased a new one for a 1989 4.3. Look the same but the shaft on the new one is two short had to put the old one back on. Have you heard of this problem before?

2.8 mounts bolt to the frame (factory holes)

The Conversion mounts bolt to the 2.8 mounts.

The points face the front of the truck and the mount with the square hole in it goes on the passenger side.

Without pictures it\'s hard to say what you did wrong.

did it, and swapped the adaptor mounts left to right and right to left because I was not sure but it didn\'t work regardless of the side, 2.8 mounts are in the stock locations, unless 4.3 locations are very different than 2.8 locations they are where they need to be. unless the transmission from the 4.3 changed the location of the 350 every thing is \"as it should be\" just don\'t know
