Just to let you guys know I worked for GM for 5 or so years as a Tech I specialize in wiring and electrical components.
So if you have some real brain boggling questions dont hesitate to ask I also have access to the GM archive and there tech database so I can get information on harnesses for any 80 and up vehicle easily.
On another side note An old coworker and myself have been in the hotrod community for several years and we have dropped v8\'s into a lot of vehicles. Not to sell myself but we make custom harnesses for your specific application the harnesses are fully tested on a special bench system. I put an add up in the for sale section for detailed info or ask me I might be able to put something together to make your life easier most of our harnesses have 5 wires to hook up nobody else is making a harness specificaly for an s10 v8 swap. we warranty them for 6 years and I give 100% tech support I can walk you through the install no hassle no waiting for people somewere else that doesn\'t even care about your project!
How many people who are selling products to make a living ever give out free advice and help you through your project.
Ok enough of a sales job in all seriousness dont hesitate to ask me about any part of the install for your truck thats what Im here for and you\'ll note I have a coputer were I work so im pretty much on here all day long!

how much for the harness, and is it just for the engine or the complete harness. Do you do a custom one for my application depending on what acc.. i run.
Heres a mind bogler for ya. My 97 S10 2.2 5 speed. The gas gauge has its own mind. Sometimes i will start it and it will stay on empty and take forever to go up to level, and other times i will start it and it will go to full and slowly come back down...but if i apply the E-brake it goes right to empty and stays there. Now i was thinking just a bad sending unit, but the e-brake thing has me stumped.

Sounds like a faulty ground.
We primarly do engine harnesses but If you send us measurements of how long you need your runs to be and what connectors and so on we might be able to help you out.

could you make a harness for a 95 solid axle conversion 4x4 s10 blazer to put a tpi 305/350 where a vortec 4.3 and a 4l60E once were? I could sent both the tpi harness and the 4.3 harness. I work at a salvage yard and have access to a 88 maf tpi and a 92 speed density tpi, both computers, harnesses, fuel pumps, regulators, sensors, etc. Ideally it would utilize the 4x4 700r4 that we already have , also I have both the 231 and 207 transfer cases , but i believe that one is for a cable driven speedo and the 231 that came with the truck has the electronic vehicle speed sensor. I would like to use stock gauge cluster if at all possible , but could fab something for after market gauges. I\'m sure i left out something .....any suggestions, help with harnesses, or price info greatly apprieciated

Ok what kind of engine is it LT1, LT4, LS1, LS6, Gen3, Vortec or is it an aftermarket TPI intake? 700r4 is good as long as it has an electric speed sending unit which you listed. I prefer to use the 727 computer, do you require any emissions components? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

The computer is said to be a sealed unit....how \"water-proof\" is it if it was installed under the vehicle?
IceQueen

727 is very waterproof I dont know if id leave it sitting in a bucket of water but under or in around the engine bay is perfect for it. I haven\'t had one fail yet.

Where might i find one of the 727 units(stock ecu, or aftermarket item)? By the way that motor was a tuned port 305 from an 88 z28(MAF sensor equiped). The harness was kind of chopped up so i just got the motor , computer, fuelpump, and various related connectors/sensors. Harness from motor to computer/blazer? price? thanks http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

Oops, almost forgot to say no emissions requirements. Also could you exclude the knock sensor? Ideally i\'ll put a two peice rear main seal older style hyd. lifter 350 long block under the intake, would this change computer or wiring harness requirements?

as long as the intake and sensors are the same it shouldn\'t be a problem.. Want to message me your address so i can do a cost estimate and give you a final total? here is a picture of the harness. I\'ll also give you a list of all the sensors and everything else you may need and then you can let me know how you want to proceed.

wow im very impressed, the wiring looks almost too easy to install. looks like a very nice job.
If things go well with my new job i\'ll have to get you to make me one to replace the old one in my truck. then i\'ll have a reason to make the 4 hour trip to see your truck.

I\'m speechless. It\'s cleaner than my Painless is. Maybe now I too will have reason to go fuel injection. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

IceQueen, or anyone else that can help. I dropped a 85 Firebird 305 into my 85 S10. I also put in the wire harness and computers into the truck. But, on the Firebird wire-harness, there are two connecters for the dashboard connectors vs 1 on the S10. I bought 2 books (Haynes) for both cars hopeing I could match up the wires which I need. Can you help me out in any way so I can get all the electronics working properly.

harness for 1996 4.3 to plug into new style trunsiganal switch connector and ignition switch. how well are the lines labeled. im going to use a converter for vss and run stock dash. carbed 350 and th 350 is engine.

We do not produce harnesses for carbed engines you only have a few simple wire to hook up with a carbed engine. We produce fuel injection harnesses which allow you to easily install a fuel injected engine. to run your motor you just need to find a ignition feed (pink wire) to your coil and the start wire from the 4.3 starter to the v8 starter and away you go.

maybe you can help me out with a harness for an ls1 in place of a 4.3?

send me an email at leia@virplex.net and let me know the year of the vehicle and the year of the motor your using. also does your motor have drive by wire throttle or does it use a regular throttle cable?

Wireing intimidation...
I had a 1995 4.3 CPI 5spd until friday last week when it put a connecting rod through the oil pan.
since then I bought and had a complete block latemodel (87+ it was serpintine and set up for a throttle body) rebuilt to be picked up tomorrow, and a TPI with a MAF ecm picked up tomorrow, I also picked up a MAP ECM conversion kit
My TPI (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2415553762&ssPageName= ADME:B:EOAB:US:6)
My TPI Speed Density Conversion ECM (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2416049281&ssPageName= ADME:B:EOAB:US:6)
the 4.3 is out but I do not know where to start with the wiring harness, there are tons more wires and plugs going ever which direction and I don\'t know what to pull, if anything stays, and what all I will lose if I replace it with a Speed density harness, of which I have been searching for for the last 6 days
this may be one of my first few posts, but I tell you i am so glad I paid up my membership those months ago
Please help me figure out this nightmare, and please send me a quote on a speed density harness
I jumped in this with the thought that could convert my harness over to work with the new ECM, now that I have looked at it and asked to no avail on all of the other s-series boards you are my only hope, and worse I have 27 days to complete it before my show...
thank you in advance

ready to go, now a question,
\"to cut down on wires from the engine bay strip off the plastic coverings and tape and seperate the firewall wiring all grounds in that harness should be grounded(black & black/white) wires. the remaining wires that arn\'t plugged into the heater assembly and whiper motor can be pulled back I can help you sort through those.\"
I am not clear on this, firewall wiring all grounds should be grounded. to the firewall?
save the wires running into the heater and wiper motor?
not exactly sure what you were saying (sorry this is my first time dipping into something like this on this truck...)
thank you

well there are wires that run in the harness that used to ground on the engine block from the harness that leads from the cab why gm did this dont ask me just cut them back and ground them to the firewall.
as for the wiper motor and heater assembly those are the only wires that need to be on the firewall the rest of the wires that were in the loom can be pulled back and sorted for use or to be removed.
How much for you to take my 89 305 camaro 700r4 tbi harness and graft it to my 89 tbi 2.8 s15 5speed harness? no smog pump.
Hi I also just purchased a wrecked 88 iroc with a 350 tpi and 700r which I plan on dropping in my 86 blazer.the car runs now. I was planning on removing the harness and label everything carefully but I may be interested in a harness also. also could I remove the emmission stuff? THANKS
