View Full Version : Airbags
Hi everyone,
I am setting up my truck to run a ford 9 inch and ladder bars. It will be on the street so my truck will have a big panhard bar. I was wondering if anyone out there has airbags on their truck? I don\'t car about ride hieght ajustability but weight jacking is pretty cool. Also I was looking in the Summit catalog for airbags and all I can seam to find are helper bags. Can I use these stand alone?
Thank You

I doubt you can use the \"helper\" bags standing alone. Go buy a Truckin at a supermarket then look at all the adds in there. Or you can goto www.minitruckin.com I think they sell them too.

Whatever you do don\'t buy anything from AIM!
I\'d like to run bags too and what I\'ll probably do is use the air ride tech bags with the built in shocks. Then I can swap em out easily for coil overs if I find they don\'t hook well. Then swap em back in for cruise nights and car shows.

hey when i finish my ls1 conversion ill tell u how the ride is wit a v8 and airbags... i bagged my truck and the ride is a lot smoother than the zq8 was with an additional 2/3 drop.... but that was with my mighty 2.2 so ill see
i saw a 1st gen bagged v8.... no shocks in the back tho i was seasick looking at it
my airbag setup in the front had shock relocaters so i retained shocks all around..... no swaybar in the back tho http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif..... but u can get different airbag rear setups to run a swaybar

I just posted a pic of the inside of my bed. you can see how the crossmember bar incorporates the shocks. The bags are located on the bars in front of the tires. It rides smooth as hell. for the smoothest ride run 8 valves for all the corners and you don\'t need sway bars cause the individual valves hold the suspension up.

even with all the valves sway bar helps......... u can tell a difference then with a sway bar....... however im not complaining because it handles damn good at the right psi
