The mount is in a different place front to back. As long as you have rubber the mount with the bigger slotted holes it will fit on the trans. Most people don\'t like the 400 in S10\'s as they are much larger, and can cause fitment trouble.

I\'m running a TH400 and don\'t have any fitment problems. You\'ll have to move the crossmember, but that\'s about it.

A 350 trans takes less power to operate. Properly built---- a 350 will take those horses, no problem

ok the only problem is that i ghot a 350 but it needs rebuilt and the 400 does not. thats the reason i asked. i might trade the 400 off for the 350. nick

Its trial and error---- set the engine where you need it - get everything else to clear--headers manifolds etc----- then place your crossmember where u need it. Idealy-- engine needs to set as far back as it can and still have room to pull distributor--- and or cap.

There is a TD X member at summit that puts the TH400 into a 2WD S10. The TH400 will be the last transmission you will need. The TH350 has to be built up pretty stout to not brake if you horse around. The TH350 cannot take shifting into 2nd in a burnout when you are walking out of the waterbox. I had a TH350 and the stock 10 bolt and when they both broke, then I swapped toaTH400 and a ford 9\". My ETS were around 0.2S worse. If you give me the number off of the TH400 passenger side small metal plate, then I can tell you what it came out of.
