the other cam i have that is brandnew is 280 or something like the it is split patern 465 488 lift i will get the rest of the cam info tonight. nick
future reference to all hot rodders, when you ask a question about a camshaft please have the @.050 duration numbers. Advertised tell not diddly squat about anything. The more info the better. Now ...this is what we know about your cam....515 lift....lift is irrelevant...advertised duration is 300...this to is useless.....108 lobe seperation AHAAA this is useful...this tells me this cam will be somewhat aggressive..street stripish but not tooo radical....see how that worked http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif

the other cam i have is a summit cam @50 is 224 254 lift is like i said is 465 488 you can look at it the #is sum-1105. basicly it is for a supercharger but it figure it would work pretty good. nick
that is definately NOT a power house cam for a naturally aspirated ride. it will make more than stock and it will idle good. Would respond to nitrous greatly. its on a 114 lobe serperation.....that is wideeee

that is what i thought so ia going to use the other cam. iam going to put roahds lifters in it to make it idle a little better. nick

why spend the money on rhoads lifters and have to live with the noise when you can get the right cam/lifter set for about 150 bucks?

the reason why iam using the rhoads lifters is because i have already got them. all theis pick up is going to be is a weekend worrior. so i figured to try and make it bad a$$. nick

hum david what up your a$$.
If you look at the spec card of that Summit cam, checking the valve open/close points you will see that it is a street cam.Thats what it was designed for,low-mid rpm performance. With those 882 heads it will fall on it\'s face around 4500 rpm.

Nick that must be a lunati cam....thats the same one I have in my truck, first off your gonna need a 3000 rpm stall to get any kind of performance off the line, I had a sat nite special 1800 stall and it ran like crap till the 2500 pwr band , so do that first, I have a domed piston and 76cc 194 intake 993 heads,,,it runs damn good and sounds great, also make sure your intake matches the upper rpm like a performer rpm , Ive got a set of dart heads now but im building another motor with more compr, cam, so ill use it on that setup,,,, have a good one

it is the lunati cam i was thinking of the weind xcelerator or the tourqer 2 manifold both single plane they both match the cam specs and i was going to get a 3000 stall converter. how did the cam work for you insomniac. let me know would you. thanks guys. more help is greatly app. nick

For that engine combo, I\'d stay with a dual plane Intake and a 3000 stall 10\" converter. Maybe a set of 3.73 or 4.10 gears. You dont have the compression and breathability for a single plane. UNLESS you wanted to spray about 100-125 shot. Then a single plane would benefit you probably.
Good Luck, Stroker1

Nick you can see a burnout I did last yr with the lunati cam and 3000 stall, 3.42 gears and single track, need to address that someday, you can see it at streetfire.net under burnout folder I think.....I was nervous with all the people and shoulda keep it in second gear, supposed to stop when the guy blew the horn but I couldnt hear or see him for that matter so I guessed about how long to run it...lol. I like the cam alot ,im going alittle bigger with my new motor and im taming this one down with a 300 horse cam to put in my daily driver s10 when I can get around to it but no hurry....

Yes, it has adv. 11.1 , w/ 64cc head ,domed piston, the 515 lunati bracket master cam, performer rpm intake, 76 cc 993 casting ,ss .194 int. valves, crappy heads screw in studs....ect. ill never build another set of factory heads, I bought my dart iron eagles for less than I have in my fac. heads after valves, machine work ect.....nothing special about the engine really. We built it back in 1986 and motor still has cross hatching on cylinders, mostly sat in different projects of mine, till id get em put together nuff to drive then on to something new

about how much did you spend on your darts? cause i was looking at buyin a set when i get the money. yeah that is how i want my truck to idle and run. nick

Nick I got em off ebaymotors from a seller named jerangsad......look up cylinder heads and browse...I paid 799.00 to my door free s/h 215 cc intake runner 2.08 int valves 72cc chambers, I was going to run them on my blower motor , but I got a set of dart pro 1 aluminums 64cc 215 cc from a buddy dirt cheap w/ about 100 miles on em gave 450.. he had over 1500 in em .... wow I love being around him when he gets tired of a project..lol..any way i found a set of alum heads for 756 or so buy it now around 800 w shipping.....thats a good deal for ya just look around on there ,,,make sure you get complete heads, not BARE some kind of hide that fact , then they need valves and machine work before you can use em goood luck Nick c u later

I have used the 224/234 cam from summit. That cam works great. That cam pulled hard to 5600 in a 350 just like yours. The only difference was that I was using flat top pistons and 993 heads. With a 2400 converter I could run 8.30 in the 1/8th. I had a stripped out S-10 with 28X9 slicks, a th350, 650dp, performer rpm intake, and 4.10 gears. You should run about the same.

well just to inform you guys i just got a set of 383 pistons with 2 valve releifs with a 64 cc head and a 40 thickness head gasket i guess is what the machine shop said i would be around 10.1/2. 1 compression so yeah i was going to use the lunati cam in it to also. thanks for the help on this guys. your help is greatly app. nick
