I run fine when not in traffic, but today I learned today that 5 oclock is not a great time to be driving my truck. When I stopped I lost about all my coolant. So I figure the 4.3 radiator has got to go. The one I am looking at now is the Griffin out of the Summit catalog. Has anyone any experience with this one in particular? Any size recomendations? Any other random ideas or words of wisdom? I have a 400hp 350 sbc mated to a 700r4. Thanks!

I think the radiator in the parts.s10v8.com (http://parts.s10v8.com) site will work best.

I agree with Mike, that\'s what I am using and it works fine even in stop and go 30 minutes at a time in 90degree heat.

What fan do you have? The 4.3 radiator is fine as long as you have a good fan. IT cools better than the vette radiator, because it is a little bit bigger. I have a mild small block, run the 4.3 radiator, and the flexolite #210 fan with adjustable thermo.

If your running a stock clutch fan or a mechanical fan, I\'d try this electric fan set up first. This is the best electric fan for the 4.3, at least that I have found. I tried a bunch of different mechanical fans, with no luck. Kept climbing in slow, or stopped traffic.

Mine sets in traffic at 185-190 in summer heat. I have the thermo set fo the fans come on at about 175. They are thin, and fit the radiator perfect.

I\'d try this first. They\'re cheaper, and you might free up a few ponies by ditching the mecahnical fan

i agree if you go with the vette radiator, i would run an electric fan. I run the modine radiator with a flex fan and it got up to 230 once in traffic, before i shut it off. I\'m gonna go with an electric one and hopefully that will keep it cool.

the vette rad we sell is the heavy duty one, the thing that makes it cool so well is the high fin count per inch, that\'s what makes a great cooling rad not size.

i\'ve got a 425+hp engine and i had no problem keeping mine cool with the 4.3 rad i run a 16\" flex a lite plastic flex fan.. it\'s disighned to pull more air at low rpm\'s than any other fan... they are great... sitting idling in traffic or sitting idling talking to freinds it only ever hits about 185 runs 175-180 all dya long while cruising... i\'m gunna put a 160 stat in and a electric fan in in the spring and it should bring the temp down some also i\'m gunna have a lot less hp now too http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif
