Hello all. Welcome to my first post. I have been driving my curiously underpowered 93 around for a few years...go figure, it\'s got a 2.8L. I pulled a 454 out of my 1ton gmc and decided to stroke it out to a 496 and put it in the s10. It will be a few months before the actual transplant takes place, right now I\'m looking to drop the rat motor onto the frame rails mid february. I\'ve asked Summit/Professor Overdrive about this swap and was told that I\'m going to have to fabricate the headers and the mounts.

I see that most of you folks are running small blocks in your trucks. Is there anyone amongst you that have stuffed a BBC in there? I\'ve seen it done once but neglected to ask if he\'d share any tips or tricks to this swap.

Welcome. Like ChevyKid said, there are a few active guys around who have done BBC trucks, and hopefully they\'ll check in. But yeah, headers will need to be fabricated. I think I recall seeing or hearing of a truck with stock iron manifolds, but if you went to the trouble of stroking your engine, I\'m thinking you\'re looking for major performance, hence not stock manifolds. Good luck with your project.
