This is an age-old debate. I contend that headers will yield no (or inconsequential) HP increase on a std. performance, bone-stock engine. The tinnier, rattlier exhaust sound will make the driver swear that it makes more power, but I doubt it. Now take a 450 HP SBC and compare stock manifolds to headers...http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif Probably a huge HP increase with the headers.

........ Just think about it. If the headers would increase HP AND economy like the ads claim, wouldn\'t the factory use better designed iron manifolds? The factories would LOVE to boast more HP with better economy. They don\'t offer sloopy manifolds, because it doesn\'t matter, except on the HiPerf engines. On those engines, they typically DO offer better manifolds.
