i use a 1\'\' aluminum open spacer. The rear bowl on my holley interfers with the way i have the intake setup so i need a spacer for clearence. I have a 2\'\' that i\'m gonna try just for the hell of it, but i need to get my hood first.

I have read the manual that came with my edelbrock and I am pretty sure it says you have to use one with the 4 holes. Not saying it won\'t work any other way but there is a reason they took the time to write it.

1inch is fine for street use.
