Man its been 20 yrs or so but from what I recall I pushed in on the plunger or you may not have to, take a small screw driver or nail or what ever will go into the hole that has the pin in it on the valve body itself and simply drive it out, replace spring put plunger back in and reinstall pin, instant wiplash.....

so to get the plunger out i need to push on it and it should pop out?

if you look on the valve body itself close to the edge above the of the sleeve your trying to take out you will see a roll pin that goes through the valve body , you need to knock out the pin with a small screw driver or nail, or what ever will fit......then the plunger will come out , change spring ,then insert plunger, roll pin , valve body......

Ditto what HotRod said, the Roll Pin is under pressure or spring loaded in order to stay place. Try something a little harder to tap the Pin out. Also, try and move the valve back & forth while tapping the Pin. Remember there is a spring in there pushing the valve against the Roll Pin. It will come out, just take it slow.

They can be tricky getting them back in, because they are slightly larger in diameter than the the hole (in order to stay in place). Put the roll pin in the hole and use a small C clamp to push it thru.

Hope this help!

Oh! Once you get the Pin out, DON\'T let the Valve fall on the floor. A nick, dipple, or light scratch won\'t allow it to move back & forth freely in the valve body http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif I had to use 600 grit sandpaper to fix this opps http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

i am so effin pissed off i got confused with the instructions so i was hitting the pin with a nail and hammer which does nothinggg then i realized your suposed to push and twist on the sleeve thing and the pin will pop out but it was stuck because i flared the pin when i was hitting it with a nail then i decided to heat it up thinking itd make the valve body to expeand and hopefully let the pin out BADIDEA!! when i went to twist the sleeve it snapped right in half! SO NOW I NEED TO BUY A NEW VALVE BODY! DAMNIT MY TRUCKS NEVER GONNA GET DONe
