Old trans was a 700R4 with a electric speedo, New trans is a t5 5 speed with a cable. I need a device to run my digital speedo. I know there is one out there, Summit sells it and I think It\'s made by autometer? Please help. Thanks... Dave http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

If your old trans and new trans have the same diameter hole for the speedo opening then just swap gears and the sending unit.

If not, do a Google search. I thought TCI used to make one, or maybe B&M. There was one available though.

What you need to do is find out what the pulse per mile on your speedo cluster is, You can buy a converter that threads onto your mechanical output, then it convets to pulse, but I dont know if there would be a way of calibrating your speedo... That might be something to look into...

Im guessing you lucked out, but how do you calibrate it for different size tires, or even a change in rearend gears? Thanks

The electronic speedo gets its conversion signals from the DRAC module located beside the stock ECM. You can go thru a local dealership to have it recalibrated to match tire and rear gear changes. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

I found it I think? It\'s Autometer part #5291 but it is described as having 16 pulses per revolution. Will this work? The reluctor ring sold on this site has 40 teeth but that goes on the driveshaft? I\'m confused... Dave
