I have the headman long tube headers on my 95 s10. I was wondering if anyone is using these headers on their truck with a full exhaust. If so, what did you do about the transmission crossmember? I want to get exhaust on mine so i can drive it on the streets. But on the drivers bank header collector, it stops within 2 inches of the crossmember. I want to get a tubular style crossmember on there but don\'t know where to find one. Thanks for the help in advance.

Here\'s a solution, crude but effective.
Crossmember Pic (http://s10v8.com/members/Scotty_S-15/Crossmember1.jpg)
This was done in the \"heat of the battle\" when I was re-doing my exhaust. I had no plans to mess with the crossmember buuuut..... I used steel I had laying around, so it\'s bigger, heftier, and uglier than I had hoped.
........ BTW, this pic with the exhuast turndowns is from 2 summers ago when I dropped the exhaust for one trip to the track.
For another pic, look in my \"personal gallery\" (camera icon)

Thanks man. That helps me out quite a bit. I had a couple of ideas but didn\'t know how strong it would be. The crossmember that is in it now has already been hacked on so it\'s not going to bug me that much id i have to cut on it more.

Or you could weld in a section of pipe larger enough for the exhaust pipe to fit through. This is what\'s done by some of the tube chassis builders for tri-5 Chevys to tuck the exhaust up under the body and enable them to get lower to the ground.

I\'m running long tube headmans also... My muffler guy run 2.5 inch pipe, he curved up over the crossmemberthen over to pass. side to miis fuel tank......he just cut the bolt on collecter as close as he could to achieve room for bending the pipe.
