Th 700R4 with 3000 stall. hoping for a black Diamond rachet shifter. I want the trans to shift immediatly once i hit the stick up and down. I will be driving on the street alot, but a firm shift is more important to me than a lazy one.
I will be rebuilding the trans by myself and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on brands or types of kits i could install to get the quickest response.
P.S. If it matters, i have a ford 9in with 411 gears
Thanks

i have had great luck with the transgo kits. probuilt automatics (http://www.700r4l60e.com) out of cali has helped me out with all my self built transmissions. plus the guy i have work on the ones i dont do myself uses transgo kits.
he has mostly overdrive stuff but knows and stocks others.

Transgo is what I use. They pretty much invented the shift kit. \"Shift Kit\" is actually a trademarked name, and it is Transgo that ownes the name. That\'s why other companies call them reprograming kits and shift improvement kits.
You won\'t go wrong with any of the name brand shifts kits though. I just like the Transgo personally, you even get a video with the kit on how to install it.

I checked out the site. They look good. I\'ll def. keep that as my first choice.
I was also looking at B&M kits. Anyone have any opinions about those?

i used a transgo \"shift improver\" and it works great but if you run the rpm\'s up too high it hesitates a little going into 3rd, but i did not want something that is going to cause neck problems, i\'ll put that one in next! other than that it works great.
