The manifold exhaust outlet is right over top of my dip stick hole. i got the log type manifolds off of a 305 on a 350 now.

if you can get the dipstick housing into the hole-- --- i would suggest trying to bend the housing to fit------ a tubing bender would help a great deal---- that housing will collapse very easy if you are not careful.

i have a set of manifolds in the garage that i tried on my first conversion, and had the same problem.i tried to beat the dipstick housing flat, but had no luck.i finally gave up,and went with headers.

Had the same Dip stick problem with those over the port manifolds. I bent the tube out as much as I could, as was mentioned, but it was never right (leaked oil down the block).

Took those off and put on a set of late model 350 under the port manifolds (not sure of the year) the motor was already out of a car at the junk yard. Those worked fine. But, I had to have the muffler shop redo the collector. Because the 305 manifold dumped straight down near the frame and the 350 manifolds angled toward the rear (actually better).

Upgraded after that to Hedman headers & 2.5\" exhaust.
