i was at the junkyard today lookin at rear seatbelt buckles. are they riveted in? because they look like they are. the plastic came off of mine so theres no rigidity to them and it looks like shit because the nylon is tan and i got a blue interior.

They should be bolted in with torx head bolts. That\'s what most GM vehicles use. Perry.

haha, welcome to some black magic voodoo gm seatbelt bolt loctite. I don\'t know what that stuff is but I know those big torx bolts are at least grade 8 and on rare occasions, I\'ve sheared them when removing belts. you need a quality torx socket bit and a big breaker bar. I usually use my 1/2\" drive impact torx on a 1/2\"x3/4\" drive adapter on a 3/4\" drive slider bar.

With a big enough breaker bar, ANYONE can make a ThunderGun look about as worthless and weak as an iGo electric screwdriver.

When I took the seats out of my \'98 Sonoma way back when, we ended up having to heat up the threaded collar before they\'d come out with the impact. I couldn\'t manage to keep the bit in the bolt with the breaker bar.
