I need custom driveshaft after lowering my truck. So I figured why not get some more performance. My question is\"What should I look for in an aluminum driveshaft?\"
My truck weighs 3900 lbs and with 317 wheel hp a posi and street tires. In the future I plan to build a stroker for 400 NA hp.
I don\'t want to be talked into buying something stronger than I need and sacrifice the performance I hope to gain by switching to a lighter weight driveshaft. Just because the builder wants to sell me the expensive one.

im not sure my stock driveshaft has worked perfectly... its solid... i guess if you have the money an aluminum driveshaft would be a decent thing to buy

I have heard good things about these guys.

P.S. How the heck does your S10 weigh 3900lbs? Does a blazer weigh that much more than a pickup?

i pulled my aluminum driveshaft out of a 2000 chevy 2500. Its a 5\" aluminum driveshaft and they are pretty common in those trucks. I got it for $100 out of a junkyard and i went and had it shortened and currently run it in my S10. Its went 10.7@ 125 MPH with a 1.54 60\'

Going by his name, he\'s got a 2nd gen blazer. Those are tanks.
I\'ve had 3 driveshafts from Denny\'s driveshaft. Very good quality with a decent turn around time. I never got an aluminum one. Went with their HD steel one, since its guaranteed.

I did a little reasearch and without conversion u-joints it won\'t fit. Did you switch out your slip yoke and pinion?

It looks like if I go that route I\'ll have to find a k2500 truck with a 4l60e and not a 4l80e, so it will have a 27 spline slip yoke and not a 32. That way I\'ll only have to buy one conversion u-joint.

i think they did put conversion u joint in it now that you mention it. I had a yoke to put on mine since im running a th350. Its a strong shaft tho i havent had a problem with it.
