exhaust exit before rear wheel??

im building a street strip s10 and will have headers with exhaust.. i wanted to have the tail pipes turnout before the rear wheel..anyone seen or done this before??

its common for all drag vehicles. if you have a ring go bad or loose oil into the exaust you will be in for a hell of a ride and soon be going every direction but straight.



its good because it heats the tires up slighly and that can help when racing late in the year when its colder.



i wont ever do it, or recomend it as ive seen what happens.



buddy had a mostky glass 48 anglia, 383 alky, 8-71 mech injection. 7 second car and an oil ring broke. oil into the cylinder, out the exaust. took the car and spun it like a top, ended up on the roof into the guardrail.

Mine comes out right before the tire and right before the leaf. There is a lil hump/notch in the frame that came under. Exhaust kinda points towards rear. Not a direct 90 degree turn out.

Looks good if you run it out just behind the wheel like a 66 big block chevelle
