View Full Version : Carb woes
I am running a Holly 650, 4b, I\'ll let you know from the get go, I am not the best at carbs. The way I figure it, my carb is way off and prob always will be, unless someone here can set me straight. I know how the set the floats, but it ends there. Give me a quick lesson, please. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

What is wrong exactly. We can\'t diagnose what is wrong if we don\'t know what it is doing. Does it hesitate? What do the plugs look like? What does the exhaust look like and smell like? How does it idle? Give specifics.
Seems to have a slight hesitation, also smells like raw fuel when I get on it good, if I get the rpms up real good and let off it\'ll give out a big backfire, guessing this may be a timing issue. The floats stick once in awhile. The exhaust is pretty clean. It idles ok, when the timing is set close. Fells the same way with new plugs, they are always clean when I check them. I just wanna know how to set a carb up for performance.
