I am gathering parts to build a street/strip blazer. I have an 85 s-10 2.8 auto 4x4, bought cheap and ready for conversion. I have a 6.0 LS1 type truck motor and tranny/transfercase out of an 05 gmc truck ready for a home.

My queastions are how much power will the front diff handle and what gear ratio\'s did they come in? Any other related info who be greatly appriciated on doing a swap like this.

there is a guy that did a book on the LS1 swap. i dont remember the web site but i did buy a copy. he has alot of good infor on the subject. as far as the gearing?? look for the codes on the sticker in the glove box. it will be a G code i think. you can check the codes atS10 Blazers (http://www.s10blazers.com)

a member that rarely shows up here LT4Blazer did the LT4 i think he also has something to do with the book but it was a 2wd. there is a guy on idaho street racing (http://www.idahostreetracing.com) that did a twin turbo v8 in a typhoon but its not an LS1?

The first major issue is the oil pan in the s-10 4x4 conversion, there is a company making a pan at the tiny cost of about 500 and a few others modifying stock ones to work.... I personally would love to do one mated to a awd case, the front diffs hold up rather well.
